SmartNets4E - Open Scientific-Technologic Research Infrastructure of the EHU
Smart Networks for Everything (SmartNets4E) is the experimental research infrastructure resulting from the evolution of the original SN4I platform at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). It brings together the resources deployed through the SN4E project funded under UNICO I+D 6G 2022 (TSI-064X00-2022-0022), its subsequent extension through the SN4E+ project (TSI-064X00-2023-0024), the IKUR initiative, and additional resources acquired through complementary funding sources. Integrated into the ESFRI SLICES-RI ecosystem, SmartNets4E provides an advanced environment for research, experimentation, and knowledge transfer in 5G Advanced and 6G, combining support for basic research and pre-commercial validation. The infrastructure is designed as a multidisciplinary, multi-user platform serving multiple verticals, including advanced manufacturing, health, education, transportation, and mobility, through its distributed nodes.
